UW System Administration (UWSA), in collaboration with WiSys, is offering three research grant programs to UW faculty: the Applied Research Grant (ARG), a combined Applied Research-WiSys Technology Advancement Grant (AR-WiTAG) and a Prototype Development Fund (PDF). ARG is offered as a one-year program for all disciplines on all campuses. AR-WiTAG is offered as a one-year program in science and technology fields only and is not available for UW-Madison or UW-Milwaukee researchers. However, Madison or Milwaukee faculty may collaborate on AR-WiTAG grant proposals submitted by other UW campuses. WiSys has access to prototype development funds (PDF) to develop prototypes of inventions. In order to be eligible, the invention must be disclosed to WiSys and WiSys must agree to market the technology. Currently PDF grants are limited to $15,000 or less.

- ARG full proposals due January 14, 2013.
- AR-WiTAG full proposals due January 14, 2013 and July 1, 2013.
- PDF proposals due November 9, 2012, February 15, 2013, August 16, 2013, November 8, 2013 and February 14, 2014.
